25 Feb New Podcast – Cllr Lee Wilkes, Raunds MyTown App
When people think about the role their local council plays in their lives – its usually for obvious things – public information, enquiries about services or council tax. But for the residents of Raunds, their local council have been working more proactively for the last year in trying to connect its businesses and residents.
Just over a year ago, as the pandemic created issues for businesses of all sizes across Raunds – a town that is home to over 1000 businesses among its 10,000 residents – which the council sought to try and address with the launch of a new app aimed at connecting the local businesses in the area with local residents looking to avail themselves of local goods and services.
Today on the podcast, we meet with Councillor Lee Wilkes – member of Raunds Town Council and Deputy Mayor of Rands – for a discussion about the development of the app and the impact that its had on the local business community since its launch last year.
